About Lucy Sanderson-Gammon, Career Coach
After a long career in communications, I reached a point where I knew I'd outgrown being employed. I wanted more autonomy, more freedom to shape my own work, and the chance to create something that genuinely reflected my values.
Stepping out on my own opened the door to designing work on my own terms. Along the way, I discovered how powerful clarity, self-awareness, and deliberate decision-making can be in creating work that genuinely fits – and how easily people stay stuck in situations that no longer serve them, often because of untested assumptions.
That realisation led me to career coaching, where I could bring together my business experience and my own experience of career change to help others navigate theirs.
Over the past decade, I've worked with hundreds of clients across the private and public sectors – professionals seeking more meaning, people navigating redundancy, and those wanting to make more deliberate choices about their careers. My work focuses on helping people understand themselves clearly enough to make well-judged decisions they can stand behind.
I hold a Master of Business Administration (Merit) and a Diploma in Career Guidance (Distinction), and I'm a Professional Member of the Career Development Association of New Zealand.
